Since August 2022, I’ve been in COVID recovery m

Since August 2022, I’ve been in COVID recovery mode. And it’s sucked.
I’ve gained 10kg - and I was already struggling a little with some regain.
I’ve lost muscle, strength and endurance. And confidence. A lot of confidence.
But I’m on my way back! Our Jan Whole30ish was a great start to the year, I’m slowly making a few more changes and I’m starting to feel (not see, yet) some results for my efforts.
Covid’s no joke - our health and wellness is such a big priority so if you are recovering too, take it slow, we have all the time once we’re a bit better. Bring on the next 3 months!

Our January Whole 30 kick started a new era of self love for me. It wasn’t strict, it wasn’t perfect - but then my brain doesn’t deal well with super restrictive habits.
It was enough.
Nourishing foods, deliberate choices, yes to new adventures. Result? A bloody good month and my bio age dropped FOUR YEARS!

Day one of our annual #whole30.
We use this month to slow down, find new recipes, improve our sleep, digestion and overall health. It’s a great opportunity to simplify our meals - living off the bbq and from our garden when it’s ready. I also find it’s a great month to focus on me … which I usually deprioritise for the other 11 months of the year!!

High protein working from home breakfast on a FriYay.
Pams Super Salad mix - great mix of all sorts of lettuces. 50g of shaved chicken - roughly chopped, on special and easy to pack if you’re not working from home. Cherry tomatoes - little pockets of yum. Three fried eggs - these could be boiled if transporting. Splash of basil pesto. Nearly 30g protein!

Tips for when you’re super hungry …
High volume high protein meals.
Eggs and vegetables are a go to for me (plus frozen vegetables are a great option for the budget). Pan fry in lemon juice and black pepper and add in 3 eggs as they start to sizzle. Stir and serve on lettuces.
