If you’re new here, I haven’t blogged in a while. If you have been reading my blog on and off, you’ll already know that! I don’t have an apology to make – I just haven’t felt like I have had any thoughts or even recipes worthy of a blog post. But this month I am going to do it anyway – watch out for 31 blog posts. But more on that, and my why, later.

The first day of the year started with a slightly fuzzy head and a lazy day. Mom is here staying with us and on New Years Eve she had whipped us at 500! We had some cheeky glasses champagne and a funny conversation with my brother and my niblings in London at about 1am.

So we lay on the couch for a bit.

Ken and I did our photos and our weighins for our January DietBet. Cos we are doing a January Whole30 so why not? I’m also the heaviest I have been in a while so its a good chance for me to clean up a few areas of my nutrition, get back to drinking my water and taking my vitamins. Yes, I have been a not particularly excellent follower of the rules.

I made three delicious Whole30 meals for our first day. I’m planning on putting the recipes up today as my Instagram posts and stories had such a good response. Personally I think its because Bogie featured but he’s seriously cute so I am cool with that!

Breakfast – Meal One – Mexi Scrambled Eggs with Avocado
Lunch – Meal Two – Chicken, Bacon and Blueberry Salad
Dinner – Meal Three – Garlic Prawns and Chicken with Broccolini and Beans

Ken and I finally got off our butts about 4pm. I had to get up and do something and the heat of the day had me wanting to get out and enjoy the little bit that was left!! So we chucked on our shoes and headed down to the Lake. One quick loop – and I set my base time to beat for the rest of the year. I had a few moments of mindfulness – before Ken got a little bored and returned to his super chatty self!!! Drives me nuts sometimes but for the most part I love our walking debriefs.

And so I started my year the way I mean to continue … nutritious and delicious food, almost 2 litres of water, at least 30 mins of movement and some sunshine.
