Every since the days of pre-op, I’m asked the same question at least once a week – and sometimes daily.

… but but what do you actually eat?

I usually say something along the lines of “I favour protein, leafy green vegetables, unprocessed carbs and lots of water” at which stage their eyes have glazed over and they are slowly stepping backwards.  So I thought I’d show you .. both the meal and the macro breakdown.

The app I use for tracking my food and nutrients is LifeSum.  I love how it gives me Meal Ratings and a Day Rating and I try and keep it happy by seeing smiley faces everywhere.  Compared to My Fitness Pal, its also very pretty!  Each of the meals below is a collage of 3 of the different screens – meal ingredients, meal rating and nutrient distribution, nutritional information.
I currently have LifeSum set to the Ketogenic Light plan as the macros are reasonably close to what suits my body.  Yours will be different.
The varying plans and ratings are available on the premium plan.  But trust me, paying a little each month is worth it.

I use side plates and small bowls where-ever possible.
Otherwise, yes I know its a bit weird, I have a set of scales and a measuring cup.

Breakfast

Two eggs, scrambled in a Sistema Easy Eggs, with a little water and some paprika.  Thin slices of pork belly and a Mini Brie.  With a tablespoon of salsa.  Breakfast is probably my favourite meal of the day!
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, I work out in the morning so breakfast is usually my biggest meal of the day and they get smaller from there.

Lunch

Chicken, baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and cheese!!
I have an office job – which comes with access to a fridge and a microwave – but my go to lunch is salad with a bit of meat and cheese.  Sometimes, because my carbs are so low, I even reheat my meat with a wee bit of butter.  Oooooh yea!

Dinner

This week is Emma’s Food Bag week – that means we get the recipe for and ingredients of, three delicious meals delivered, ready to be whipped up, by none other than Mr!  Last night was holy freaking heck!!!  Fried halloumi, kale and avocado with a little orange.
